Our Story & How We Started

The Spark of a Vision

Every great mission begins with a moment of clarity. Original Kingdom Ministry (OKLA) was born out of a profound and urgent calling to address maladministration, poor leadership, and spiritual hunger within both the secular and non-secular sectors. Looking at the landscape of our communities—particularly the overlooked rural areas of Uganda—we saw a deep need for a leadership philosophy built on Kingdom principles.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Matthew 28:19-20

Our Humble Beginnings

Original Kingdom Leaders Association (OKLA) was born out of two catalytic movements led by Evangelist Dan Kiggundu. It began in 2013 as a mediation and Kingdom-teaching mission that eventually unified over 100 churches in Uganda. Later in 2018, Evangelist Dan partnered with a passionate young leader, Agnes from Watoto Church, to bring this same message of identity, gifting, and purpose behind bars. Beginning with a temporary permit for five correctional facilities, their consistent impact led to OKLA being granted a permanent, unlimited mandate by the prison ministry to transform systems, provide technical training, and minister bi-weekly across six major prisons in Uganda.

What started as a passionate mandate to inspire and challenge a few individuals has quickly grown into a structured academy and community-driven network designed to influence the very destiny of developing communities.

Meet the Team

We believe that true leadership is rooted in servanthood, mutual accountability, and fraternal support. As a dedicated team, we work hand in hand to manage, guide, and execute the mandate of Original Kingdom Ministry across Africa.

Evangelist Dan Kiggundu

Founder

Evangelist Dan’s journey of faith is rooted in a profound story of redemption. He gave his life to Christ on February 27, 1982, while in a UK prison, and was later ordained as a pastor there in 2003. His call to evangelism began in 2002 at Kigo Prison, sparking a lifelong commitment to prison ministry and evangelism.

Before establishing Original Kingdom Leaders Association, Evangelist Dan led the mission department at Omega Healing Centre in Kampala. In 2013, he successfully mediated a reconciliation movement among fractured churches in the Kamwenge district, establishing a network of over 100 unified churches grounded in Kingdom teaching. In 2018, alongside co-founder Agnes, he officially launched OKLA’s dedicated prison ministry branch. Under his oversight, the ministry has grown from a temporary, five-prison pilot program into a permanent, unlimited-access partner of the Ugandan prison service—delivering spiritual teaching, technical training, and essential donations to six correctional facilities twice every month.

Minister Ronnie Kamara

Board Member

In August 2010, while alone in his room in Bujumbura, Burundi, Ronnie experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. On August 13, he surrendered his life to Christ and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Although his walk with God was not without challenges in the beginning, his faith matured over time as he continued to grow in his relationship with Christ.

After returning to Uganda, God eventually led him to a fellowship through his sister that eventually grew into a local church. From its very first day, he served alongside the founding pastor, helping establish the ministry and later serving as both Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor.

Today, he serves at Vive Church and is actively involved in prison ministry alongside Evangelist Dan Kigundu, sharing the hope and transforming power of the Gospel with incarcerated men and women. He is also the founder of Gods Sons Ministry, a discipleship ministry dedicated to equipping men to become godly fathers, faithful husbands, servant leaders, and Christ-centered influencers in their families, churches, workplaces, and communities.

His passion is to see lives transformed through the Gospel, believers established in their identity in Christ, and men empowered to lead with integrity, humility, and biblical purpose.

Creating and Empowering Leaders with a Spirit-Filled Purpose.
